Carbon & Platinum Eye Candy

So today's post is just straight-up "eye candy" featuring some of my favorite platinum and diamond originals from a variety of artisans - all from the Art Deco period.  It's magical to me that a little bit of carbon can, under immense pressure, turn into the most beautiful stones - diamonds!  And, I think you will agree that the craftsmanship of these pieces is just amazing and the detail in nothing short of inspiring!  A perfect match for these magical bits of carbon.

Emerald, Sapphire & Diamond Dress Ring - The elongated octagonal cartouche, collet-set with a line of alternating
circular-cut sapphires & rectangular-cut emeralds, within a border of calibré & circular-cut emeralds, accented
by cushion-shaped diamond finials, between similarly-shaped diamond & circular-cut sapphire
scroll-work shoulders, diamonds approx. 1.05cts total sold at Bonham's July 2013 auction.

Platinum Old Mine Diamond, Emerald & Sapphire Ring - The center stone is 4.70 cts surrounded
by sapphire & emerald cabochon stones in a platinum mounting from Yafa Jewelry.

Mulholland Diamond, Emerald & Oynx Ring - Mulholland is a very special Art Deco platinum, diamond, emerald & onyx ring,
incredibly unique & boasts a center bezel set 0.64ct EGL certified Old European Cut diamond graded F color & VS1 clarity
with a dazzling fan shape design featuring a row of six calibre cut onyx bordering two rows of twelve bright green natural
round & square step cut emeralds. Mulholland is finished with ten Single Cut diamonds which flow down each shoulder of

Art Deco Diamond & Seed Pearl Chain Necklace in Platinum - Long & beyond luxurious, this Art Deco diamond & cultured
seed pearl chain necklace is a sexy sautoire. The palest platinum forms an incredibly long chain - of rope length - set with
petite seed pearls of beautiful luster & augmented by bezel set marquise cut diamonds from Beladora.

Art Deco Platinum Cushion Cut Diamond Stud Earrings - Stunning diamond studs from the early Art Deco (ca1910) era! Each
earring has a single old Cushion Mine Cut diamond stone set within a platinum bezel setting. The diamonds have an
approximate total weight of 1.50ct tw. The clarity of the stones is VS1-VS2 & the color is I-J. The fancy cut stones are
surrounded by a hand milgrained border from A. Brandt + Son.

Art Deco Diamond Bracelet - Consisting of numerous old cut European diamonds & centering A 1.50 old mine cut
diamonds total diamond weight approximately 10 carats mounted in a handmade platinum setting with open
workmanship was sold through 1stdibs by Antique Reflections.

Stunning Ladies Dress Ring - Featuring a gorgeous Yellow Ceylon Sapphire (5.25ct) & 2 Baguette cut Diamonds
approx. 0.15ct each G/VS for a total carat weight of 0.30ct. sold by Steven Sher Antique & Fine Jewellery.

Art Deco Diamond & Emerald Engagement Ring - This is an Original Antique Art Deco, platinum, diamond & emerald engagement ring that can be dated back to the 1920's featuring a center stone that is a 1.0 ct. marquise cut from Bashford Jewelry.
