Something Wicked This Way Comes...

Tonight is the one night every year where it's perfectly acceptable to dress up in a costume, beg for candy and/or attempt to scare the living daylights out of people.  Yup, it's my favorite holiday....Halloween!  I love this time of year.  The spookiness is just too fun!  And, if we're being honest, I actually like Halloween better than the Christmas holidays.  Childhood memories of homemade costumes and orange plastic pumpkin pails run through my head.

Taken around 1982 or so, Mom always handmade Halloween costumes for my sisters & I.  In a keepsake
box somewhere, I'm sure that I still have that plastic pumpkin.  And yes, I'm dressed as the clown.

But, now that I'm a *little bit* older, my idea of the perfect candy has changed from chocolate bars and peanut butter cups to gold, silver and platinum!  Now, if I could just convince everyone else that there should be a dedicated, adult-only trick-or-treat time when they can hand out jewels instead...My life would be complete!  Until then, I guess staring at these wicked little beauties will have to tide me over!

Nothing says 'wicked' better than the age-old human nemesis, the snake.  But this little guy...adorable!
